1961年，應Wuerttemberg State Theatre 總指揮Walter Erich Schaefer的要求，Cranko成為了Stuttgart Ballet的指導。不久，他在倫敦嚐到了失敗（1960年的芭蕾舞"Antigone"以及音樂劇"Keep Your Hair On "）但他接下了這份工作並堅持到底，一直到死。Cranko用了10年的時間將這個地方性小公司躍升為世界級的大公司，同時他依舊持續的為Stuttgart Ballet編舞，其中包括The Catalyst (1961) , L'estro armonico (1963) , Jeu de cartes and Onegin (1965) , The Nutcracker (1966) , Quatre images (1967- 68) , The Tamimg of the Shrew (1969) , Brouillards and Pome de l'extase (1970) , Carmen (1971) , and Traces (1971) 。1973年，Cranko在一架由美國返回倫敦的觀光客機上死於心臟病，享年45。 抱歉，可能翻不好，別見怪。
